Strong Start for Beginners
We meet in person and on Zoom on Mondays and Wednesdays at noon, and on Saturdays at 9 am for 55 minutes.
6-week semester / $650

This 6-Week Program is intended to take beginner students with no Kettlebell experience & bring them up to speed on safe, effective KB technique for group classes at OMP. The strength skills you learn with the KB will teach you principles that apply to anything you put in your hands. We will guide you to safer, healthier training for longevity & sustainable strength. Each week will focus on new lessons in the form of 3, 60-min sessions with detailed instruction & live practice. In the sessions, students will learn the foundations of Hard Style KB training, with fellow beginners, under the watchful eyes of a StrongFirst Team Leaders & Elite Instructors.

Come to every LIVE class! Each skill builds on the previous classes so coming to every class will ensure that you don’t fall behind
Join the conversations on the Strong Start channel of our Discord Community where students ask technique questions, cheer each other on and submit videos of their reps for form tips.
Re-watch the recordings of classes to review cues as you practice &/or if you missed a class
Ask us questions about skills that you would like extra help on as we go through the curriculum. Students that asked questions during LIVE classes & on Discord found that they were extremely confident in the skills they learned after the course.

Depending on how much experience you have with Hard Style kettlebell training, you may see some things you are already familiar with. If you have trained a different kettlebell style, are picking kettlebells up after a long time, or have less than 2 years kettlebell experience, you will benefit from this course. We dive into a TON of detail with techniques that will clarify what you might not have known or verify what you thought you knew.

You must get clearing from a doctor & then book a 20-min Chat With A Coach to tell us about your circumstances and so that we can give you the best coaching we can!
This course is academically focused, meaning we spend the 6 weeks honing in on safe and proper technique rather than focusing on a “workout pace.” When learning a new technique for example we instruct everyone to take pauses so that reps are done with the highest quality possible. We also help students choose a light/appropriate sized bell to do the task at hand in order to practice the chosen movement in the safest way. During the LIVE sessions, we meet all students where they are at and encourage resting as often as needed when practicing the techniques. We will always help students navigate angles or variations that best accommodate a precious injury or any cranky joints so that the student is always safe.

As each kettlebell skill builds on the previous techniques learned, any missed class should be made up by watching the recording of the missed class so that the student does not fall behind. After watching the missed class recording, please take the initiative to ask questions about the new technique you missed! You can ask questions on the Strong Start Discord channel &/or send in videos for form checks &/or come to open gym times to get extra coaching.
If tuning into classes via Zoom, please note that coaching and individualized cueing is only possible when the student’s camera is turned on.
Completion of all 18 classes is expected prior to jumping into KB small group classes. Students benefit most when they make the most of personalized coaching in the beginner Strong Start Course before joining a group training membership for further improvement.
Registration is for specific days and times. Due to space and equipment limitations and in order to keep the coach/student ratio in check, members cannot make up a class in a different Strong Start cycle.
Cancellation of the Strong Start Course can be made within 7 days of the first day of the course with a $125 cancellation fee.
